The backstory

Travis CI was the default for a generation of open-source projects. Pricing changes pushed the community out, GitHub Actions absorbed the workflows, and Copilot now writes the pipeline config that used to be Travis's main friction point. There is no longer a scenario where a new project reaches for Travis first.
