AI browser automation framework that mixes Playwright code with natural-language actions.
why this verdict
Keep it — Anthropic has not replaced it
Anthropic's version overlaps, but does not finish the automation job, so this one is still worth keeping open.

The backstory
Stagehand, from the Browserbase team, takes the pragmatic middle path in browser automation: write deterministic Playwright where the page is stable, and drop into natural-language act and extract calls only where it is not. That hybrid is why it gets used in production rather than demos, because pure natural-language agents are slow and expensive for steps that never change. It also caches successful actions as replayable code, which turns an exploratory run into a cheap repeatable one.
