The backstory
Sora turned OpenAI's video model into a consumer product with a feed, remixing and cameo features that put a person's likeness into generated scenes. It appears in this archive on the causing side of the ledger. A large share of the stock footage subscriptions, simple explainer tools and low-end motion graphics services people cancelled through 2026 were cancelled because a prompt produced something adequate in thirty seconds, and the floor of what anyone will pay for generic B-roll collapsed accordingly.
