Boring, deterministic, auditable — and therefore safe.

why this verdict
Keep paying — Microsoft has not replaced it
Microsoft's version overlaps, but does not finish the dev tools job, so this one still earns its $32/mo.
- A named launch, not a vibe named, unlinked

The backstory
SonarQube blocks a merge when coverage drops or a security hotspot appears. Enterprises buy it partly for the analysis and partly for the paper trail. An AI reviewer that gives a slightly different answer each run cannot serve that function. Sonar survived by being the thing auditors accept, and by adding AI review as a complement rather than pretending it was a replacement.
