The backstory
Smartcat runs the whole localisation pipeline: machine translation, glossaries, translation memory and a marketplace for human reviewers. Frontier models now translate long documents with tone and context that older engines could not manage, which shrinks the post-editing bill that justified the platform. Smartcat is wounded but functioning, because enterprises still need memory, terminology control and an audit trail over who approved which string.
