Salesforce Sales Cloud
The system of record survived; the seat count is the thing under pressure.
NOT REALLY
why this verdict
Keep paying — Microsoft has not replaced it
Microsoft's version overlaps, but does not finish the CRM job, so this one still earns its $25/mo.
- A named launch, not a vibe named, unlinked
- Copilot summarises the CRM it cannot replace. Microsoft, January 15, 2024 — no announcement link recorded yet.
- How much of the job it covers not the job editorial call

- Is there a free way to do it? yes
- 1 of 2 listed replacements have a usable free tier: HubSpot.
- What the call is worth $300/yr

The backstory
Salesforce is where the pipeline data lives, with two decades of customisation, integrations and compliance around it. No AI product replaces that. The real question the market is asking is subtler: if agents do more of the data entry and follow-up, do you need as many seats? Salesforce answered with Agentforce, which is the correct defensive move and an admission of the risk.
