The backstory
Outline is a fast, clean team wiki that can be self-hosted, which is the entire pitch against Notion for organisations that will not put internal documentation in someone else's cloud. AI search across a knowledge base is now a standard feature everywhere, and the incumbents have vastly more of it. Outline's advantages are speed, simplicity and the open licence, and it turns out that a wiki agents can read via a self-hosted API is a genuinely useful thing to own.
