Novelcrafter gives fiction writers a scene-by-scene manuscript, a codex of characters and world rules, and AI assistance that draws on that codex using your own API key. Long-context models can now hold a whole book in one conversation, which handles quick continuity questions. Novelcrafter survives because it is a structured manuscript database with revision control and consistency tooling, not a chat log, and serious drafts need that spine.
