Msty is a desktop client that talks to local engines and hosted APIs from one window, with split chats, personas and knowledge stacks built from your own PDFs. The frontier consumer apps are faster and cheaper for casual use, which removes the mainstream case. Msty survives because it needs no account, keeps data on disk and lets you compare models in parallel. That is a workflow the cloud apps structurally cannot offer.
