The backstory
Lavender is an email coach for sales reps, scoring drafts in real time and suggesting fixes to improve reply rates. GPT-4o writes a solid cold email straight away, so the drafting side of Lavender's pitch has become a commodity anyone can get free. It is wounded because coaching, the live scoring, personalization prompts and data on what actually gets replies, is still useful, but it sits on top of generation that reps can now do without it. The advice layer survives; the writing layer doesn't justify much on its own.
