The backstory
incident.io built incident response where engineers already are, turning a Slack channel into a structured incident with roles, a timeline and a postmortem that writes itself. Generic AI can summarise a channel, which sounds like the whole product. It is not: the value is the enforced process and the accumulating record of how this organisation actually fails. The company shipped its own AI investigator and folded on-call into the same subscription, which turned the threat into a feature and put real pressure on PagerDuty.
