The backstory
Fabric collects everything you save, from cloud drives to screenshots to web clips, and tags and links it automatically so you can find things by describing them. The premise was that no single vendor could search across all your accounts. Google now answers natural-language questions over Drive, Gmail and Photos directly, and the assistants read connected apps. An aggregator loses when the biggest silo becomes the searcher.
