The backstory
Docker builds, ships and runs containers, and Docker Hub distributes the images most CI pipelines pull from. Claude Code and similar agents now write Dockerfiles and compose files that used to be a specialist skill, so the authoring layer is commoditised. But the image format, the runtime and the registry are infrastructure, not text. Agents emit Dockerfiles precisely because Docker is the standard, and owning the format everyone targets is a real moat.
