The backstory
Abridge listens to a doctor and patient talking and produces the structured note, billing codes and summary that used to consume hours of a clinician's evening. Reducing documentation burnout is one of the clearest returns on investment in healthcare AI. Microsoft owns Nuance and Epic builds its own, which is formidable competition, but Abridge's deep Epic integration and its evidence linking every line of the note back to the audio is exactly what a compliance committee demands.
